About the course

A 180-day, project-based course delivered across 130 class days in 26 weeks. Choose a JavaScript and Node.js pathway or a Python and Django pathway, then progress from programming foundations to APIs, databases, authentication, testing, architecture, deployment and AI integrations. No prior coding experience is required, and the course ends with a portfolio-ready capstone built from scratch.

What you will learn

Modules

  1. 01

    Programming fundamentals

    Learn JavaScript or Python from the ground up, alongside the terminal, Git, clean code and problem solving.

  2. 02

    Data structures and algorithms

    Work with core data structures, algorithms and the trade-offs behind efficient, maintainable code.

  3. 03

    Professional Node.js or Python

    Use modules, packages, files, asynchronous code, error handling and automated tests in the chosen language.

  4. 04

    Backend frameworks and APIs

    Build routed, validated REST APIs with Express or create applications and APIs with Django and FastAPI.

  5. 05

    Databases and authentication

    Model persistent data with PostgreSQL or MongoDB, work through an ORM, and secure users, passwords and permissions.

  6. 06

    Testing and software architecture

    Practise automated testing, debugging, code quality, design patterns and clean application structure.

  7. 07

    Deployment and operations

    Containerise services with Docker, use CI/CD, deploy to the cloud, and explore caching, queues and scale.

  8. 08

    AI integration and capstone

    Build with LLM APIs, retrieval and agents, then plan, test, document and present a deployed capstone.
